Sally Shifter arrive attached to a Tex Racing Gearbox (She’s a Texas gal), I had removed her since it was a dangerous situation to have her getting bent out of shape in my messy garage. While I had her off, I decided it was her time to make the trek to Disneyland. I told her it was “Lady’s day” but it really wasn’t. She needed a bit of convincing to go.

Ride to the Disneyland

Courtney Caliper (Sometimes just ‘Cort’) is usally in the thick of things, putting the squeeze on things. But today she make the trek to Disneyland. The ride is seems like a long time, but we eventually get there.

The holidays

Entering into the park the first thing we see is the giant Christmas tree in the center of town. A quick look and we moved on. Courtney didn’t really want to get a picture with Santa so we moved one. It was a bit early in the season so we kept it moving for a change.

First Stop – the Autopia!

For some reason, everyone I bring to Disneyland love the Autopia. I can’t think of a friend that didn’t like it. Wally Washer pump got a bit queasy but still loved it.

Autopia Car Ride and the Rules

We got though the line pretty quickly this time, but Courtney was squealing most of time and seemed a bit chafed that we couldn’t just get right on. Go figure.

Fried Chicken Lunch – As Usual

After a long drive, it seemed time for lunch. Courtney put the squeeze on me for some lunch. We decided to get some lunch at the Plaza Inn (which is my favorite spot for lunch). It was perfect timing as we were both hungry. We each got a plate of Fried Chicken, and it was good to the bone! It was such a good batch, and just delicious. We packed in some biscuts with honey, and had a mess on our hands. Courtney rechared her fluids and we were on our way to the parade.

On our way to the Parade

After some kicking about in Tomorrowland we headed back to catch the parade. We walked a bit around the center of Disneyland and checked a few things out. Was a really beautiful day!

Settling in for the Parade

We got a nice sport for viewing the parade. We were there very early, but stopping quickly to find a good spot later proved to be a good thing. We watched a host of Disney characters motor by, and I think ‘Cort’ really enjoyed not having to be hot and dirty for a change.

Extra Spooky Haunted Mansion

Being the season before Christmas and Just after Halloween, we got the double dose of the Haunted Mansion. I don’t think it was Nightmare before Christmas yet, but who remembers. Courtney wanted  a picture with the scary pumpkins just to prove to her friends in the garage she was not at all scared. But to tell the truth I could tell her pads were chattering a bit when I put her up on the edge near the spooky pumpkins. That’s just between you and me.

No Way Out Elevator

The Elevator in the Haunted Mansion is still one of the best part of the ride. Cool ‘stretchy’ paintings, the gargoils, and fun guides make this still a top 10 ride for me. Courtney thought so too.

Fireworks to Wrap Up

Was such a great day, not a lot of panic stops. We ended up catching the Fireworks show which Courtney thought of just a bunch of sparks ‘I have seen this stuff before’ then as the music and show really got under the stroy changed.

Wrapping up the day at Disneyland

Nice low key day at ‘theLand with Courtney Caliper. Hit a bunch of rides, had some delicious fried chicken, and what more could you ask for.

Hope you all have enjoyed a day at Disneyland with Courtney Caliper!
