Here is a large EZ read firing order for the old school Ford 260, 289 and 302 series of Windsor engines.

NOTE : This is different then later model 302HO and 351W motors as well as many race motors.

Note that many aftermarket camshafts for older fords often are of the newer 302HO/351W order. Just double check with your cam grinder or pull the valve covers find top dead center and start watching valves, you should be able to figure it out!

Also remember that the position of the spark plug wires does not matter AS LONG AS THE ORDER IS MAINTAINED! If you need to rotate the cap for any reason don’t worry about pulling the wires and rotating them around. Again this is OK as long as the firing order for the engine is maintained and you check your engines timing.
