Power Door Lock Actuator Replacement
Things get old, even the my old dependable 2003 Ford Diesel Excursion. One of the power door locks on the passenger side went
bad. Symptoms include a stuttering of locks or and related no-op conditions. I think this applies to F250 and F350 Super Duty
trucks from 1999 to 2006 as that is what the parts indicated they would fit. So here is my power lock replacement for the
PASSENGER side of the Excursion. Driver should be similar. These also seem to be a common part for many Ford, Ranger,
Mustang, etc.
Complexity
This took about one hour of work, including the pictures. It's not a hard job at all, you just need to take your time and make notes
(or take a few pictures) of how things are before you take it apart. I have tried to included way more pictured then you would need
just in case. Once you get used to the way the clips work the job is easy. Just try to remember how you take things apart, this will
make for speedy re-assembly. Happy Motoring!
Tools Needed to Replace the Power Actuator

Metric Open End 11mm
Torx T27 Bit

Parts Needed
Power Actuator - I got mine off of Amazon Here are the numbers that I recall using for 2003 Excursion
*NOTE PLEASE CHECK YOUR VEHICLE AND YEAR TO MAKE SURE THE ABOVE WILL WORK, IT'S ALL ON YOU!*
Price was about 50% of what my local Autozone wanted, and I had free shipping from Amazon Prime so gave it a go.
On the next few pages you can see the process to replace the Power Door Lock Actuator. Most steps are easy and while it may
look messy getting into the door, it's really not all that bad. The Hardest part was figuring out how to get to the Actuator, and after
taking it all apart it really was not that difficult. It seems that someone was also inside my passenger door as one of the tabs that
holds the door panel was broken off in the bottom of the door.
